Brrrr. It just keeps getting colder and colder in Toronto, which would be terrible if it weren’t for the fact that it gives me the perfect excuse to dip into the beer stash and have some nice warming brews. After a chilly walk home from work, the best cure I could find was a Flying Dog Road Dog Scottish Porter, one of the few remaining vestiges of the great birthday present I got this year from my parents. (It was a cooler full of beer they picked up in Buffalo.)
The beer poured with a sizable tan head that quickly dissipated. The auburn colour was more reminiscent of a dark ale than porter. I was definitely getting some coffee taste from the malt, but was disappointed by the thin feel. Respectable, but nothing special.
