The seasonal festivities kicked off yesterday with the first of two work gatherings – the one for the younger folks. The night ended with scotch (after scotch), but I couldn’t resist a cheap pint of Great Lakes Winter Ale as a starter, especially given the fact that the weather had turned below freezing. It poured with a fingers width of creamy, white foam and lots of spicy aromas. There are all the flavours one expects from a winter seasonal: cinnamon and cloves, which pair nicely with the hops. A little sweet, but in a nice way. If I had a fireplace, this would be my drink.
