May 1st

Sophie and I took another trip to the Auld Spot, this time for dinner before getting together with friends. The day had been fairly warm and I really needed something refreshing, which made the Mill Street Belgian Wit an obvious choice. The colour was a hazy straw with a fizzy, rapidly disappearing head. The aroma was hard to pick out thanks to a large orange slice that was all I could smell. The taste was typical of a Belgian-style wheat beer, with coriander, lemon, orange (though might not have been the beer) and some banana. The flavours did seem a bit subdued and not as vibrant as I would hope and there could have been more carbonation. Still, it hit the spot and fit the moment.
