June 10th

I was inspired to take the Christoffel Blond out of my fridge due to Matt’s post over at One Beer at a Time. With the Christoffel Nobel being a recent hit, expectations were high for the blond. And once again, Christoffel bring the hops with this unfiltered pilsner. A far cry from your standard domestic pilsner, the Blond is a cloudy straw with a strong, fizzy head. The wonderful grassy and spicy aromas of the Saaz hops pop out from the glass, along with a touch of citrus fruits. The Saaz dominates the flavour as well, but with some added grain and hay. The body has a surprising amount of heft, though the beer is still great for warmer weather. A wonderful and unique pilsner.
