I probably drank more than I normally would have during the first two months of this blog for the sake of having something to write about the next day. But now, almost eleven months later, I reach for a beer and say, “But then I’d have to blog. Fuck it.” Notice that it has been a while since I’ve had a drink on adjoining days? Soph is probably drinking more than me at this point. For the sake of my experiment, the beginning and end are (hopefully) canceling each other out. Not only are we approaching the dog days of summer, but the final countdown for the year.
It also doesn’t help that there are few exciting beers left in my fridge. Case in point: the Baltika 3 (Classic) that came from my brother. This is the palest of pale lagers. This beer looks as thin as a ray of sunshine. The taste and aroma were full of boiled vegetables and sugar. It is doubtful that the Baltika 3 has ever seen a hop. Normally this would have been a drain pour, but it was used as fruit fly bait. Turns out they didn’t want it either.
